Seven Wells Waterfall
Telaga Tujuh story

Seven Wells Waterfall (Telaga Tujuh) – Langkawi’s Magical Natural Wonder
Named after seven natural freshwater pools connected by a rushing river, Seven Wells Waterfall (or Telaga Tujuh) is one of Langkawi’s most stunning natural attractions—where legend, beauty, and adventure meet.
Located within the Machinchang Cambrian Geoforest Park, this magical site is split into two sections:
The Lower Pools, perfect for casual visitors
The Upper Pools, ideal for adventurous hikers
Lower Pools – Nature’s Refreshing Retreat
Reached after a climb of about 200 steps, the Lower Pools feature a 91-meter-tall vertical waterfall, a large plunge pool, and dramatic rock formations. It’s easily accessible and a favorite for families and casual visitors.
Tip: The base is a great spot to cool off, snap stunning photos, or simply relax with the sound of cascading water.
Upper Pools – Home of the Seven Legendary Wells
Hike a total of 638 steps (approx. 1-hour climb) to reach the waterfall’s namesake: seven interconnected pools formed by centuries of flowing water. These pools vary in depth and size, and the smooth rock surfaces between them create a natural waterslide—a rewarding and refreshing way to beat the tropical heat.
Legend has it that 7 fairies once bathed here, giving the water mystical healing powers.
Caution & Visitor Tips
A natural infinity pool at the edge of the upper falls offers breathtaking views—but strong currents can be dangerous. Swim with caution.
The wet season (Sept–Dec) is best for flow and scenery, but rocks may be slippery.
Monkeys are cute but clever—keep your belongings close as they’re known to snatch bags looking for food.
You can bring water, snacks, and wear suitable footwear but make sure to clear after and throw rubbish into the dustbins.
