Langkawi SkyCab Among World’s Best Cable Car Systems – Smart Travel

LANGKAWI, July 5 – Langkawi SkyCab, an over 4,000-metre-long cable car system linking Oriental Village at Teluk Burau and the 708-metre-high Gunung Mat Chinchang, here, has been listed as among the world’s top 10 best cable car systems by an international travel website.

Smartertravel.com has placed it alongside Loen Skylift in Norway, CabriO Stanserhorn cable car (Switzerland) and Sugarloaf Mountain Bondinho (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) as among the leading 10 sites that give travellers incredible cable-car experience.

Its writer, Jamie Moore, described the ride on Langkawi SkyCab as “lifting travellers to dreamlike views of the legendary island, which is located in the northwest coast of Malaysia and near the Thailand border.

“At the top (is) a Malaysian landmark, the pedestrian SkyBridge which swoops over the untouched jungle and ranks among the world’s longest curved suspension bridges.”

Langkawi SkyCab is one of only two cable car operations in Asia which have made it into the world’s top 10 list, apart from Ngong Ping 360 on Lantau Island, Hong Kong.
